Raining Stardust

22 Apr

So, just let it fall
Let the skies rain stardust
Let it heal our souls
Let the doves cry with us
And another is born
Who will take up a pen
In the place of the ones
Who might’ve never been

Without those before…

Let the words pour from you
Any words at all
If they’re from the muse
Now orphaned, let her call
Let her pass her torch
Into another brave life
Let her create through you
What she wills tonight

For all those to come…

Let’s dance with words and wonder
Such a fine sight to see
As the purple rain reveals
Their marks on you and me
Because the artist lives immortal
In every life they’ve touched
They redefined the boundaries
Of understanding love

For all who are…

*So far, in 2016, we’ve lost many great artists. The songwriters have hit me in a deeper place. This is for David Bowie, Glenn Frey, and Prince.
